Embrace this rare opportunity to own a beautifully handcrafted natural edge, maple bowl created by Chris Wellington, an artisan based in Silver Spring, Maryland. Natural edge pieces are carefully handled to retain the shape of the tree's natural edge so that a rustic, one-of-a-kind line emerges. Each bowl is a unique work of art, carefully turned from locally sourced wood, and carries a personal story rooted in Chris' passion for woodworking. Chris meticulously selects wood from trees in his neighborhood that have been cut down, ensuring each bowl has a sustainable and environmentally conscious origin. The natural beauty of the wood is preserved and highlighted in every piece. A dedicated member of a local woodturning club, Chris has honed his craft over the years through research and practice. Each bowl is turned with precision and attention to detail, resulting in a high-quality, one-of-a-kind piece. Chris' bowls are not for sale, as he views his craft as a pressure-free hobby. Instead, he enjoys gifting them to family and friends, making this auction a rare chance to own one of his sought-after creations. This auction presents a special opportunity to acquire a handcrafted wooden bowl from a passionate artisan who rarely shares his work beyond his circle of loved ones. Each bowl is not only a functional piece but also a work of art, infused with the care and attention of a skilled woodworker. About the Artist: Chris Wellington has worked at the NIH for 16 years and began turning bowls several years ago as a creative outlet. He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife, Heather, where they enjoy an active lifestyle filled with kayaking, hiking, and camping. His sister, Katie, has been thriving as a part of CRi’s Lake Jackson ICF family for the past 2 ½ years, adding a personal connection to his work.

An additional shipping & handling fee of $18 applies.
